Research, innovation, and development are critical pillars of quality education at Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Janta Vedic College, Baraut (Baghpat), has embraced this vision by establishing its Research and Development Cell (RDC). The RDC drives innovation and technology development for societal benefit by mobilizing human, intellectual, and financial resources, promoting research, fostering innovation, ensuring ethical integrity, and building collaborations with communities, industries, and government bodies at local, national, and international levels.
The RDC at Janta Vedic College plays a pivotal role in cultivating a research-oriented culture across its 29 departments under the faculties of Science, Humanities, and Agriculture, supporting 12 undergraduate programs, 17 postgraduate programs, and Ph.D. research in 15 subjects. It encourages students and faculty to explore emerging research areas, particularly those addressing local agricultural and socio-economic challenges. Under the RDC’s umbrella, interdisciplinary research projects have been sanctioned across all undergraduate and postgraduate departments, fostering collaboration among faculty and students to tackle pressing regional issues. These initiatives are supported by modern resources, including WI-FI connectivity, INFLIBNET, and a central library housing over 100,000 volumes and numerous journal subscriptions.
The RDC organizes conferences, seminars, workshops, and skill development programs to enhance research capabilities and align with industry needs, thereby boosting employability. Supported by UGC grants, the RDC ensures access to cutting-edge research tools while upholding ethical standards. By promoting interdisciplinary collaboration and leveraging resources, the RDC strengthens the college’s mission to blend traditional values with modern innovation, contributing significantly to the socio-economic and cultural development of the surrounding rural community.
