IQAC – Internal Quality Assurance Cell

The UGC-NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) proposes that every accredited institution should have an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) for performance evaluation, assessment, accreditation & quality improvement. Since quality enhancement is a continuous process, the IQAC of JVC has become an integral part and is working towards realizing the goals of quality enhancement and sustenance.

The prime task of the IQAC is to develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic improvement in the performance of institutions & also channelizing the efforts towards academic excellence. IQAC is a statutory, participative system working for quality enhancement.

IQAC aims to enhance the quality of academic and administrative performance of the institution, ensures significant growth in all aspects and promotes innovation & holistic growth.

Objectives of IQAC

  • To ensure periodic assessment of the teaching–learning, research and extension activities.
  • To promote a conducive environment for quality teaching and learning.
  • To facilitate faculty maturation to adopt technology-driven teaching.
  • To ensure development of institutional database & documentation.
  • To collaborate with stakeholders for quality evaluation & promotion.
  • To inculcate research culture among staff & students.
  • To motivate departments to organize Seminars, Conferences & Workshops.
  • To collect feedback from Students, Alumnae, Parents & Stakeholders.
  • Documentation of various programmes/activities leading to quality improvement.

Functions of IQAC

  • To design feedback system based on college output to meet desired results.
  • To recommend enhanced research facilities & infrastructure.
  • To recommend strategies for teaching–learning processes.
  • To conduct internal audits and evaluate academic & administrative performance.
  • Development and application of quality benchmarks/parameters.
  • Dissemination of information related to quality parameters in higher education.
  • Organizing workshops/seminars on quality themes.
  • Documentation of various programmes/activities leading to quality improvement.
  • Acting as a nodal agency for all quality-related activities.
  • Preparation of AQAR (Annual Quality Assurance Report) for NAAC.
