Introduction:

The Department of Agricultural Engineering is committed to advancing agricultural education, research, and extension services to address the evolving needs of the farming community and the agricultural sector. Established with the vision of promoting sustainable and innovative agricultural practices, the department aims to produce skilled graduates equipped with theoretical knowledge and practical experience.

The prestigious Department of Agricultural Engineering was established in 1949 and was initially affiliated with Agra University, Uttar Pradesh, for undergraduate studies. The department was originally housed in the building that is now the B.P.Ed. Block but was later relocated to the Agriculture Block in 1996.

Dr. Bhanwar Singh Sirohi, the founding Head of the Department, served from 1949 to 1970 and played a pivotal role in nurturing a strong academic culture focused on teaching and learning. He was succeeded by Prof. Randhawa in 1970, who significantly contributed to the department’s growth and reputation until his retirement in 2010. Currently, Dr. Sudhir Kumar Singh serves as the Head of the Department.

Laboratory:-

The department has a well-equipped laboratory that can accommodate 30 students for practical classes.

Workshop:-

The department has a dedicated workshop for hands-on training. The workshop is equipped for the identification and study of various agricultural implements available in the college. It also facilitates the demonstration and understanding of different parts of a tractor, providing students with essential technical knowledge and skills.
