SWAYAM Portal

The SWAYAM portal is a flagship online education initiative by the Government of India aimed at providing free, high-quality courses to learners across the country. Designed to bridge the digital divide and promote accessible education, SWAYAM hosts a diverse range of courses developed by premier institutions such as IITs, IIMs, central universities, and other reputed organizations. The platform offers opportunities for students, faculty, and lifelong learners to enhance their knowledge, gain certifications, earn academic credits (as per UGC guidelines), and stay updated with emerging interdisciplinary fields. Faculty members can also use SWAYAM for curriculum enrichment, flipped classroom teaching, and continuous professional development.

Students can enroll in courses during the January–April and July–December sessions, choosing from a wide spectrum of subjects ranging from basic sciences and humanities to advanced and applied disciplines. Since the establishment of the SWAYAM SPOC (Single Point of Contact) at Janta Vedic College, Baraut in December 2024, there has been significant engagement, with students enrolling in more than 40 diverse courses up to December 2025, particularly in basic and applied sciences. The SWAYAM Committee of the college actively promotes awareness and participation through notices, posters, and classroom enrollment drives, while also guiding and motivating both students and faculty to make optimal use of this national platform.
