Department of History

The department of History was established as U.G in 1956. The department has necessary facilities required to run UG courses. There are separate class rooms for B.A I, II & III classes. The department has maps for teaching aids.

FACULTY:The department was established as U.G in 1956 with one faculty member Sh. C.P. Singh. The UG Programme started with meager strength of 15 students which flourished enormously up to one section (100 students). Sh. C.P. Singh acted as chief proctor of the college for a long time. As per tradition of the Department Sh. C. P. Singh acted as the head of the department. After the retirement of Sh. C.P. Singh, Dr. (Smt.) Vijaya Laxmi joined the department in 1977. Since then she has been working as head of the department.

Socio-economic status:
Most of the students are from rural and semi urban background belonging to OBC and SC status. About 50% students belong to lower middle class and poor families. The area which caters the students to the college is having mostly farmers and artisans.

Language proficiency:
The Students are well versed with Hindi being their mother tongue. Courses are taught in Hindi medium at UG level.
